Apple Experiment

We conducted an apple experiment on Friday.  Our question was, "Do all apples have the same number of seeds?"

The kids made predictions and then worked in groups.  I cut the apples and they had to find all the seeds.

Here are our results!

Of to the Apple Orchard We Go

Today we went to the apple orchard.  The kids went on a hayride, picked pumpkins, learned about the goats, saw horses, tasted apples, and made apple cider.

Here are LOTS of pics.  Enjoy!!

This is how the bus ride started...

Bootsie Barker Bites...RAWR!

Today we worked with the book Bootsie Barker Bites.  This is about a little girl who is also not so nice...just like Mean Jean from The Recess Queen.

After the read aloud we completed a Character Map.

We created a Venn Diagram on Mean Jean and Bootsie Barker.  As a student came up to write on the large Venn Diagram, the rest of the class worked on their worksheets.

Apple Work

Last Friday we had an apple taste test.  The kids had to rate the apple foods as they tried them.  They seemed to LIKE them all!!

Students also made an apple diagram.  This was a bit different from our usual projects.  The kids COULD NOT use scissors and BELIEVE ME they thought I was kidding. Instead, they had to tear their paper to create their diagram.  Once completed, they had to label each part.  I LOVE how unique each one is!

Silly faces!

Still making crazy faces!!
